About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Lead to join our project team in Blyth, United Kingdom. This role will be responsible for ensuring all Mechanical works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
What the role involves
- Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures across the project lifecycle
- Ensure all mechanical installations comply with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards
- Conduct inspections of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and associated services
- Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure quality requirements are met
- Review and approve method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and technical submittals
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to QA/QC standards
- Record and manage non-conformances (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Maintain QA/QC documentation, including inspection records, test results, and quality reports
- Attend Site Meetings, Quality Meetings, and Engineering Reviews
- Support the commissioning process by ensuring all quality documentation is complete and compliant
- Collaborate with the project team to identify and resolve quality and technical issues
- Assist with the management and close-out of mechanical snagging items
- Promote continuous improvement of quality processes and standards
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar discipline
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a QA/QC role within mechanical construction
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, standards, and documentation requirements
- Experience inspecting mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, and associated services
- Familiarity with inspection test plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality reporting
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and subcontractors
- Data centre, industrial, or mission-critical project experience is advantageous
