About the role

We are seeking an experienced CSA Engineer to join our team on a large-scale data centre project in Sines, Portugal. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) elements of the works, ensuring that quality, safety, and programme requirements are consistently achieved. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to work closely with subcontractors, the quality team, and design engineers.

What the role involves

  • Checking works carried out and ensure quality control in maintained throughout
  • Work part of the Quality team to ensure finished works meet standards required, managing quality of the works set against approved benchmarks, actively coordinate with the QA managers to ensure the correct documentation is submitted in a timely manner by the contractors.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors on tracking progress against schedule and carry out sub-contractor meetings.
  • Manage site documentation.
  • Attend and actively participate in Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning, Co-ordination and lookahead meetings, as well as Handover Meetings.
  • Review drawings with design team and effectively solve any issues.
  • Actively monitor and snag contractors works ensuring works is installed as per the approved drawings and spec ensuring the highest quality is achieved to ensure zero defects, snag list to be raised on the approved platform and issued to the contractors with follow up walks and close out reports to be issued in a timely manner as the approved QMS.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience, ideally on large-scale construction or data centre projects.
  • Strong knowledge of CSA construction methodologies, QA/QC processes, and Health & Safety compliance.
  • Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors and manage works to programme.
  • Competent in reading, reviewing, and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in IT, with experience using construction management platforms for snagging, documentation, and reporting.
