1) Supervise groundworks, drainage, ducting and roads gangs across the external works areas
2) Check levels, trench support and backfill compaction before permanent works proceed
3) Control excavation permits, service avoidance and plant movements on the earthworks front

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to join our project team in Blyth, United Kingdom. This role will be responsible for supervising Civil works on site, ensuring activities are carried out safely, on programme, and in accordance with quality standards.

What the role involves

  • Supervise day-to-day Civil site activities
  • Monitor subcontractor works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements
  • Support the implementation of site QA/QC processes and ensure quality standards are met
  • Assist with coordinating site schedules in line with project programme
  • Track subcontractor progress and report on daily and weekly site activities
  • Ensure all subcontractor documentation, including safety documentation, is maintained and up to date
  • Attend Site Meetings, Toolbox Talks, and Safety Briefings
  • Liaise with the project team and subcontractors to resolve site coordination issues
  • Review drawings and setting out details to ensure accuracy and buildability
  • Ensure works are carried out in line with health & safety requirements at all times
  • Assist with identifying and closing out Civil snagging items
  • Report any technical, safety, or quality concerns to the Construction Manager or Package Manager

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree or trade qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a Civil site supervision role
  • Experience working on Civil elements of construction projects
  • Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and site practices
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors and monitor site progress
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety practices on construction sites
  • Experience in data centre, industrial, or mission-critical projects is advantageous
